Neal Statement on Supreme Court Overturning Chevron Deference

Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Richard E. Neal (D-MA) released the following statement in response to the Supreme Court's overturning of the Chevron deference:

"Activism from the highest bench in the land is turning our nation into a lawless place while hoarding more power for the courts. The precedent in this case made way for decades of sensible policymaking, and now, the Trump Court has potentially thrown that all away. It's unconscionable that lower courts will now be empowered to ignore the facts, ignore science, and ignore expertise in favor of their own views. It's beyond calling balls and strikes and a gross overreach of the judicial branch of government."
