Comoros National Day

On behalf of the United States of America, please accept my heartful congratulations on the forty-ninth anniversary of the Union of the Comoros' independence.

I am proud of the increasing ties between our countries, including new cooperation in the fields of maritime security. I look forward to the next year, and identifying new avenues of cooperation, including on strengthening human rights and democratic principles, and increasing commercial ties between our nations.

We wish the best to the Comorian people as you celebrate your independence.
