Homicide Investigation - 27000 block of Havana Avenue

HAYWARD, Calif., On Jul.13,2024,at approximately 10:31 a.m., officers responded to the report of a shooting near the intersection of Pompano Avenue and Sumatra Street.

Officers responded to the area and locatedevidence of a shooting. Moments later, officersreceived additionalreports of a shootingnear the 27000 block of Havana Avenue, as well as reports of a collision.

Officers responded to Havana Avenueand located an 18-year-old Hayward resident, suffering from gunshot wounds. The man was located in the driver's seat of a vehicle that appeared to have collided into a parked carfollowing an apparentshooting.

The victim was transported to a local medical facility for treatment. He later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The victim's identity is known but is not being released at this time.

There is no one in custody for this incident.

This investigation is ongoing and further details will be released when they are available.
