Cooper Makes Forbes’ America’s Best Employers List in New Jersey for Fourth Consecutive Year

For the fourth consecutive year, Cooper University Health Care was named one of America's Best-in-State Employers by Forbes, the prominent national business publication. Cooper was one of only 11 health systems in New Jersey to make the Forbes list in 2024.

"It is a tremendous honor for Cooper to be named to Forbes' prestigious national list for four consecutive years and to be one of only 11 New Jersey health systems recognized as a 'Best Employer,'" said George E. Norcross, III, chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Cooper Health System, Cooper University Hospital, and MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper. "Our ability to deliver extraordinary care, expand our services, and grow as a leading academic health system is directly attributed to our exceptional team members. This is why we are dedicated to consistently providing the resources and support they need to succeed."

"For the fourth year in a row, this prestigious national recognition from Forbes highlights the exceptional culture and work environment that our more than 11,000 Cooper team members have built," said Kevin O'Dowd, JD, co-CEO of Cooper University Health Care. "Today, we want to express our gratitude to each of them for their unwavering commitment to serving Cooper patients and supporting one another."

"As an academic health system, Cooper's team members rank among the finest health care professionals, and this recognition by Forbes for the fourth consecutive year reflects their commitment to serving our patients and supporting one another," said Anthony J. Mazzarelli, MD, JD, MBE, co-CEO of Cooper University Health Care.

America's Best-In-State Employers 2024 have been identified in an independent survey from a vast sample of more than 160,000 employees working for companies employing at least 500 people within the U.S. The ranking is open to companies from all industry sectors. Around 4.4 million employer evaluations were considered. The consideration of data from three years allowed a robust differentiation between organizations that consistently perform well from those that may only have had a single good year. An employer's final score is determined on a state-by-state basis and is built upon two types of employee evaluations:

  • Personal Evaluations: Employees' willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family.
  • Public Evaluations: Recommendations from friends and family members of employees, or members of the public who work in the same industry- also known as indirect evaluations.

Cooper is committed to creating an outstanding work environment by providing competitive compensation, a comprehensive employee benefits program, and the chance to build a career with a leading academic health system. To explore career opportunities at Cooper, visit https://jobs.cooperhealth.org/.
