A Review of Environmental Factors (REF) is now available for public comment.
A Transport for NSW spokesperson saidthe Sydney Park Junction fulfills a planning condition for the M8 Motorway, which required traffic calming, accessibility, pedestrian and cycling initiatives to be implemented.
'Transport for NSW has taken that further and collaborated with Inner West Council and City of Sydney to propose a transformational urban amenity project that will make it easier to walk, cycle and spend time around King Street, Princes Highway and Sydney Park Road,' said the spokesperson.
'The proposal would also create and dedicate dynamic community spaces for al fresco dining, public seating and entertainment.
'We're seeking feedback about the REF for this project to ensure we can deliver the best possible outcomes for the local community.
'Not only will this project make St Peters more enjoyable for walking, cycling and recreation, residents will also notice upgraded bus stops and a reduction in traffic volumes by up to 50 per cent on the Princes Highway leading to King Street and Sydney Park Road.'
