Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand To Pay Official Visit to the People's Republic of China on 8-10 July 2024

H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, will pay an official visit to the People's Republic of China at the invitation of H.E. Mr. Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China

During the visit, the Foreign Minister and H.E. Mr. Wang Yi will co-chair the 2nd Meeting of the Consultation Mechanism between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and China. The two sides will follow up on the outcomes of the official visit to the People's Republic of China by the Thai Prime Minister in October 2023, particularly on agricultural trade, investment in the industry for the future, transboundary haze, and preparation for the 50th anniversary of the Thailand - China Diplomatic Relations. Both sides will also discuss regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The Foreign Minister will pay a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Han Zheng, Vice President of the People's Republic of China, and meet with H.E. Mr. Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

This will be the first official visit to China of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand of this current government; H.E. Mr. Wang Yi already paid an official visit to Thailand earlier in January 2024.
