YVSF Recovered a Loaded Firearm and Trafficking Amounts of Crack Cocaine

At about 10:19 PM, on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force, arrested Antoiwane Hawkins-Davis, 30, of Dorchester, on firearm and drug charges.

Officers were on patrol in the area of Seaver Street and Blue Hill Avenue when they observed a motor vehicle without its headlights operating. Eventually, officers activated their cruiser's emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop.

Officers made contact with the operator and engaged him in conversation. After further investigation, officers requested the operator to exit the vehicle. Officers conducted a pat frisk of the motor vehicle, and recovered a firearm from inside. Officers also observed a discarded plastic bag of rock-like substance on the roadway.

The firearm was later determined to be a Smith and Wesson SD9 with one round in the chamber and fifteen rounds in the magazine. The recovered plastic bag contained 102 individual plastic bags of crack cocaine which weighed approximately 36 grams.

Hawkins-Davis was placed under arrest and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm Second Offense, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition Subsequent Offense, Firearm with prior/violent Drug Crime, Firearm Possession in Commission of a Felony, Trafficking of Class B, and resisting arrest. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
