Tice Recognized for Compassionate Leadership; Retires This Year

Rahway, NJ, August 21, 2024 - Kirk Tice, President and CEO of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway (RWJUH), an RWJBarnabas Health facility, was honored as a recipient of the 2024 NJBIZ ICON award. This esteemed award given by a leader in statewide business news recognizes New Jersey leaders for their notable success, demonstration of strong leadership both within and outside their chosen field, and long-standing contributions to their industry and community.

The honorees were celebrated at a ceremony held in Somerset, NJ on Tuesday, August 13.

Mr. Tice has spent 46 years with the system, including the past 30 as RWJUH Rahway President and CEO. He will be retiring at the end of the year. Under his leadership, RWJUH Rahway has earned honors such as six consecutive "A" grades in safety from the Leapfrog Group; full accreditation from the Joint Commission; Most Wired recognition from the College of Health Care Information Management Executives; and more.

Mr. Tice has shepherded Rahway through dramatic changes in the nation's health care landscape, and has always put the patient first. He has had an enduring impact on the health and wellness of the greater New Jersey community and his steady management is respected and admired in the hospital where he has been a visible and influential leader.
