Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Bridges and Tunnels today announced that due to high winds in the forecast, it will implement a ban on empty tractor-trailers and tandem (piggyback, dual, triple, etc.) trucks on its bridges beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11.

Based on the current forecast and the overall timing of this weather event, it is anticipated that this ban will be in place until 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11.
