Bolton, MS- Congressman Bennie G. Thompson is pleased to announce that more than $1.3 million in FEMA assistance has been approved for survivors of the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding that occurred in Mississippi from April 8-11, 2024. This approval comes just two weeks after a federal disaster declaration was issued for the state.
These vital grants will help pay for uninsured and underinsured losses and storm-related damage to eligible homeowners and renters in Hancock, Hinds, Humphreys, Madison, Neshoba, and Scott counties. The approved assistance includes:
Survivors of the April storms have until August 9, 2024, to apply for assistance. "I am grateful for the swift action taken by FEMA to approve these much-needed funds for the survivors of the devastating April storms," said Congressman Thompson. "This financial assistance will provide crucial support to those who have experienced significant losses and help them begin the process of rebuilding their lives and communities. I encourage all eligible residents to apply for assistance before the August 9 deadline." |
