EUDA and Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction release joint statement

'Whole-of-health, whole-of-government and whole-of-community approaches to prevention, harm reduction, treatment and recovery are required to ensure that every person can access care and that every community can feel safe'. This is among the key messages highlighted in a joint statement from the EUDA and Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction (CCSA), published today.

The statement follows a successful EUDA visit to Canada in September. During the visit, EUDA Executive Director, Alexis Goosdeel and CCSA Chief Executive Officer, Dr Alexander Caudarella, reinforced the collaboration between the organisations through high-level discussions on drug policy, substance use care and emerging trends. Topics on the agenda included cannabis initiatives, impaired driving and harm reduction services. The therapeutic use of psychedelic drugs and access to care through digital health innovations were also discussed.
