Larson Statement on Rep. Clay Higgins

Washington, D.C. - Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) released the following statement after Rep. Clay Higgins (LA-03) made false claims attacking the Haitian community in a post on social media.

"I echo the statements of Leader Jeffries and Congressional Black Caucus Chair Steven Horsford and join them in condemning Rep. Clay Higgins' vile social media post attacking the Haitian community," said Larson. "False narratives about the Haitian community have fueled hate and put lives at risk in Springfield, Ohio, and across the country. We are a nation of immigrants whose diversity is our strength. Hate has no place in America, especially in the People's House. Rep. Higgins should be censured by the House of Representatives for his racist and unbecoming conduct."
