Congresswoman Nancy Mace Introduces Common-Sense Legislation To Prohibit Amnesty For Hamas Sympathizers

Washington, D.C., September 10th, 2024 - Congresswoman Nancy Mace introduced the No Amnesty for Hamas Sympathizers Act, a bill aimed at ensuring individuals who have resided in Palestinian-administered territories or who hold passports or other travel documents issued by the Palestinian Authority are not admitted to the United States.

"We're taking a practical approach to protecting American citizens. At a time when our national security is paramount, it's essential we enforce clear and common-sense immigration policies," said Congresswoman Nancy Mace. "This bill ensures individuals who may be interested in carrying out Hamas's mission are prohibited from entering the United States."

The bill nullifies President Biden's Memorandum providing Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) to certain residents of Palestinian-administered territories, and prohibits individuals who have resided in Palestinian-administered territories or who hold passports or other travel documents issued by the Palestinian Authority from receiving Temporary Protected Status (TPS), parole, asylum, refugee status, or other special immigration designations. The bill also provides these individuals are inadmissible and deportable under the Immigration and Nationality Act. The legislation seeks to close loopholes could allow those with dangerous affiliations to gain entry or remain in the United States.
