(August 13, 2024)

The City of Omaha Planning Department has officially launched its first public engagement opportunity, an opening survey. The survey is available online at
wemakeomaha.org/event/opening-survey/, and in print in English and Spanish at all Omaha public library locations.

The survey, which takes less than 10 minutes to complete, asks participants their perspective of Omaha now and in the future, as well as their preferred ways to engage in the comprehensive plan process. The survey opened July 26, 2024 and will close August 26, 2024.

"Combined with the latest demographic data, this survey will help develop an accurate understanding of baseline sentiment about Omaha's present and future. This
survey also provides the public an opportunity to share how to best involve them in the planning process going forward," said Derek Miller, Long Range Planning Manager.

We Make Omaha is the public engagement effort for the City of Omaha's Comprehensive Plan, a central guiding plan for Omaha's growth and development over the next 20 years. The plan, scheduled to be completed in December 2026, will replace Omaha's current Master Plan, which was adopted in 1997.
