Allison Rupp, DO

SGMC Health is pleased to welcome Allison Rupp, DO, to the health system, specializing in internal medicine. Dr. Rupp will see patients at SGMC Primary Care located at 410 Connell Rd in Valdosta.

As an internist, Dr. Rupp sees patients 18 years of age and older for general wellness visits, acute care sick visits, musculoskeletal pain and injuries, and general management of chronic conditions like diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart failure, asthma, COPD, thyroid disorders, and much more. She is committed to providing personalized care and ensuring her patients feel heard, understood, and safe.

"My goal is to be a partner in my patients' healthcare journey," said Dr. Rupp. "I want them to know that I genuinely care about their health and life goals. By working together, we can achieve the best outcomes possible."

Dr. Rupp's dedication to patient care is evident in her approach to medicine, which is characterized by empathy. She recalls a particularly rewarding experience early in her residency, where she diagnosed a patient with sleep apnea, which was significantly impacting the patient's quality of life. Through attentive care and proper diagnosis, Dr. Rupp helped the patient regain energy and joy, illustrating the profound impact a committed primary care physician can have.

Dr. Rupp received her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Lake Erie, Pennsylvania. She completed her residency training at the Mercy Catholic Medical Center-Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby, Pennsylvania.

Beyond her professional life, Dr. Rupp enjoys baking, especially cakes and pastries, and spending quality time with her family. She is married to Scott, a physician in the Air Force and an Emergency Medicine physician in the community. Together, they have a daughter, Gwendolyn, and a King Charles Cavalier named Mae. In her free time, Dr. Rupp can often be found enjoying trivia nights.

"Joining SGMC Health is a wonderful opportunity to serve the South Georgia community," said Dr. Rupp. "I am excited about the warm climate, the chance to explore a new state, and the many outdoor activities available. I'm eager to make South Georgia my new home."

Dr. Rupp is now accepting patients. To become a patient, call SGMC Primary Care at (229) 242-9565.
