Brian Troyer, associate vice provost for enrollment management and dean of undergraduate admission, has been named the next permanent vice president of enrollment, effective immediately, Acting President and Provost Kimo Ah Yun announced today. Troyer was previously announced to assume the acting role following Dr. John Baworowsky's retirement.

As vice president of enrollment, Troyer will oversee Undergraduate Admissions, the Office of Student Financial Aid, Marquette Central, the Office of the Registrar and the Office of International Education.

"Brian has been instrumental in the university's successful enrollment strategies, particularly amid a period of recruitment challenges facing the higher education industry as a whole, and he has shown progressively impressive leadership in his time at Marquette," Acting President Ah Yun said. "Brian uses a keen, data-based approach and great creativity, along with a talent for teambuilding, to shape incoming first-year classes that continue to exceed expectations in terms of academic excellence and diversity. I am confident he will be successful in this new role, and I look forward to continuing to work closely with him."

"I am honored to lead an exceptional Enrollment Management division that consistently delivers on Marquette's mission to thousands of students each year," Troyer said. "The Marquette community's commitment to cura personalis is remarkable, and I am grateful for the opportunity to work closely with colleagues throughout the Marquette community to implement data-driven enrollment strategies that will advance Marquette's mission, vision and strategic plan."

Since Troyer joined Marquette in 2016, Marquette has seen increases in first-year applications, student diversity and academic quality. Under his leadership, Marquette recently implemented an Early Action admissions timeline, which contributed to a 19% increase in applications for the fall 2024 enrollment cycle.

Prior to joining Marquette, Troyer was director of undergraduate admissions at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. He previously served in a variety of progressive enrollment management roles at the University of Kentucky, where he earned a bachelor's degree in communication and a master's degree in higher education, both with honors. Troyer is president-elect of the National Catholic College Admissions Association and is currently working on his doctorate in Educational Policy and Leadership at Marquette. Additionally, he completed Marquette's FELOS program this past academic year.

Troyer is also involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters; he and his "little" - who will be a first-year student at Marquette this fall - were named Match of the Year in 2023.
