Temporary service changes at Gateshead Central Library

Work to replace the life at Central Library will begin on Monday 7 October and will take approximately 5 weeks.

During this time, the lift will be out of order.

Early closure of Gateshead Archive

During the works there will be no access to Gateshead Archive, Gallery, public toilets or the first floor of the building after 4.45pm.

Library entrance

The car park entrance also will close at 4.45pm, please use the Historic Entrance on Prince Consort Road after this time.

Public computers and study access

Access to public computers will be very limited on evenings after 4.45pm. Please phone ahead before visiting for further details or book a computer in advance. On Monday evenings study space with wi-fi will be available in the MakerPlace area of the library.
