ICT Sets New Passenger Record for Month of August

A record 159,434 passengers flew in and out of Wichita Eisenhower National Airport during the month of August, beating the old record of 150,209 set in August 2019. August marks the fifth month of record passengers this year. For the first eight months of 2024, passengers have exceeded 2019's record year by 3%. August enplanements were 78,323, an increase of 7.42% while scheduled seats increased 3.6% compared to August 2023. For the year, total passengers are up 7.36%. There were 36 average weekday departures in August compared to 31 last August.

Air cargo tonnage fell in August, with outbound down 1.88% and inbound down 9.55%.

Revenue from concessions also increased in August:

  • Food and gift sales increased 8.28%
  • Rental cars increased 6.42%
  • Parking revenue increased 12.28%
