Washington D.C. - Today, Congresswoman Norma J. Torres introduced a resolution to recognize August 18th - August 24th as Warehouse Worker Recognition Week to recognize the dedication of our nation's warehouse workers and their contributions to keeping the America economy moving during unprecedented times and weather. They are essential to our infrastructure, economy and ensure our supply chains run smoothly.

"The workers who keep our goods moving, shelves stocked, and our entire economy running - the millions of warehouse workers across the United States - deserve to be recognized for the backbreaking, 24/7 work they do to keep America's economy second to none."

"The Inland Empire - the logistics and shipping artery where goods from the busiest ports in America are distributed - is home to a massive workforce of frontline, warehouse workers who endure stifling heat and bear the brunt of calamities like the COVID-19 pandemic. These workers are vital in maintaining the intricate infrastructure of global and local supply chains that keep our country thriving and I am so proud to be their voice in Congress."

"This resolution acknowledges and expresses gratitude for their efforts and sacrifices during Warehouse Worker Recognition Week. With the increasing prevalence of e-commerce and retail distribution, the demand for warehouse workers has grown significantly, making their roles even more crucial in today's digital economy."

It is not just important, but imperative to advocate for improved working conditions and fair wages for these workers. Investing in our warehouse workforce not only addresses supply chain disruptions, but also fortifies the logistics industry and supports the hardworking individuals who keep it running . This resolution is essential in directing attention to their needs and recognizing their critical role in keeping our economy strong and resilient," said Congresswoman Torres.
