On August 5, 2024, Judge Amit P. Mehta of U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ruled that Google LLC ("Google"), a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc., violated antitrust laws related to online search. Judge Mehta has indicated that he will determine remedies in a separate proceeding in the coming months. Google plans to appeal the ruling.
