William Woods welcomes new faculty as Fall semester begins

Fulton, MO - Six new faculty members joined William Woods University (WWU) as Fall semester classes began on campus this week.

WWU welcomed Dr. Dory Andrew, Associate Professor of Social Work; Olivia Buzzacco, Assistant Professor of English; David Nelson, Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice; Dr. David Witter, Assistant Professor of Music; Cameron Nuss, Research and Instruction Librarian and Dr. Arthur Streb, Assistant Professor of Sports Management.

Dr. Andrew is a graduate of Missouri State University, where she received both her bachelor's degree in Finance (2000) and master's degree in Social Work (2006); she also earned a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Missouri, Columbia. She joins the William Woods faculty from Pittsburg State University (Pittsburg, Kan.), where she served as program director for the Master's in Social Work program and, prior to that, as an Assistant Professor of Social Work. Her past experience includes serving as Director of Project Stay, a federally-funded program serving first generation, low income and disabled students at Missouri Southern State University; as a case manager for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, and as a child care worker.

Buzzaco received both her master and bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Bowling Green State University (Bowling Green, Ohio). Prior to coming to William Woods, she served as an Adjunct Professor of English at Elizabeth City State University (Elizabeth City, N.C.), Southern New Hampshire University, Young Harris (Ga.)College; St. Charles (Mo.) Community College; College of the Albermarle (Manteo, N.C.) and Hocking College (Nelsonville, Ohio).

Nelson is a graduate of Central Missouri State University, where he received his master's degree in Criminal Justice (2006); Missouri Western State University, where earned his bachelor's degree, also in Criminal Justice, and Mineral Area College (Park Hills, Mo.) where he received his associate's degree in Journalism. He comes to The Woods from the Missouri Department of Corrections, where he served in variety of roles since 2005, including Employee Development Specialist, Regional Training Administrator, Re-Entry Training Manager, Training Technician and Corrections Training Officer.

Dr. Witter holds a Doctor of Musical Arts-Composition from the University of Missouri, Kansas City (UMKC) in 2020, plus master's (2012) and bachelor's (2010) degrees in the same topic from the University of Missouri, Columbia. He joins WWU from Central Methodist University (Fayette, Mo.), where he had been serving as Assistant Professor of Music since 2019. Additional experience includes serving as a Media Specialist at the UMKC Conservatory's Music Library, an online instructor with Mizzou K12 High School and as an elementary school music instructor.

Nuss earned two master's degrees from the University of Central Missouri, in Library and Information Science (2024) and English Literature (2022), as well as a bachelor's degree in Psychological Sciences from Missouri University of Science and Technology (2020). Nuss joins the faculty at William Woods after owning a bookstore, Lamplight Bookstore, in Warrensburg, Mo.

Dr. Streb comes to The Woods from Christian Brothers College (CBC) High School in St. Louis, where he had been serving as the school's athletic director since 2012. Additional experience includes work as an adjunct professor and course designer for Concordia University (Seward, Neb.) and Lindenwood University (St. Charles, Mo.), and as an administrator, teacher and coach in the Mehlville, Missouri School District. He holds four academic degree - a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Missouri, St. Louis; a specialist degree in School Leadership from Lindenwood University; a master's degree in Teaching from Maryville University in St. Louis and a bachelor's in Education from the University of Missouri, Columbia.
