Cr Helen Healy was elected Mildura Mayor while Cr Ali Cupper was elected Deputy Mayor at tonight's Annual Meeting of Council.
The Mayoral Election followed Mildura Rural City Council's 2024-2028 councillor group being officially sworn in tonight in the wake of October's Local Government elections.
The new-look Council represents the first time in Mildura Rural City Council history that women make up more than 50% of Councillors, surpassing the Victorian Government's goal of gender parity in Local Government by 2025.
The coming 12 months will be Cr Healy's first term as Mildura Mayor, previously serving as Deputy Mayor for multiple terms.
