City of South Fulton Welcomes Six New Code Enforcement Officers to Its Team

Code Enforcement officers work to ensure state and local ordinances are enforced to protect the safety, health, welfare, and property values of residents.

SOUTH FULTON, GA - (August 7, 2024) - The City of South Fulton announces the addition of six new code enforcement officers to its team. These officers were sworn in during a ceremony at the Frederick Administration Building on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.

The new officers, ShaQuanda Arnold, Marcus Napper, Delina Lovell, Dwayne McKinney, Laurence Muhammad, and Douglas Partridge, will join the code enforcement department and strengthen its ability to uphold local codes and regulations.

City of South Fulton Director of Code Enforcement Paul Muhammad expressed his gratitude for these unsung heroes as they work to make South Fulton a safer and cleaner city.

"Public Safety is the number one priority but it can't do everything by itself," Muhammad said. "We have to use things like code enforcement. More officers will allow us more flexibility in addressing code violations. It allows for different approaches towards fighting blight on multiple fronts such as attacking abandoned houses, commercial buildings, illegal dumping, abandoned vehicles."

While these officers will not respond to emergencies or crime scenes, they will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and aesthetics of neighborhoods across the City of South Fulton. With their extensive knowledge of local codes and regulations, they are responsible for identifying and addressing potential hazards that could threaten public well-being. From dilapidated buildings to overgrown properties, illegal dumping and zoning violations, these officers will be helping create a safer and more beautiful community for all residents.

"We are excited to welcome these new code enforcement officers to our team. Their dedication and commitment to keeping our city safe and beautiful is greatly appreciated," Muhammad said. "We look forward to working with them to make South Fulton an even better place to live, work, and do business."
