Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) met on Thursday 27 June 2024 to consider the 2024/2025 Budget, Delivery Program and Operational Plan. The budget was adopted by Councillors with some changes made following submissionsfrom the community.
"During the consultation period Council conducted a comprehensive community engagement program to encourage the community to participate in the process and have their say, ask questions and understand what Council's priorities are for the next 12 months," Dubbo Regional Council Mayor, Mathew Dickerson said.
"During this process Council received 20 submissions covering 44 topics some of which included shared pathways in both Wellington and Dubbo, Cameron Park toilets, housing, off-leash dog parks and the Wellington Aquatic Leisure Centre and these submissions were included in the report back to Council on Thursday night."
Financial sustainability continues to be a strong focus for Council as the current economic climate continues to place pressure on services and projects.
"The restrained decision making in the 2024/2025 Budget and Operational Plan helps to support the long-term financial sustainability for the Dubbo region whilst listening to community feedback," Clr Dickerson said.
At the June Ordinary Council meeting, Council determined the following amendments:
The adopted 2024/2025 Budget, Delivery Program and Operational Plan and associated documents will be published on www.dubbo.nsw.gov.au.
