Addresses listed are rounded to the hundred block. For a complete list of case reports, visit olympiawa.gov/p2c.

Notable Trends

  • Two aggravated assaults reported this week with one an open investigation. Officers arrested the suspect in the other case after he punched the victim multiple times.
  • Four auto thefts reported with an arrest in one case. In the arrest, an officer located the vehicle and watched the suspect return to it from an auto parts store. He tried to leave on foot when he noticed the patrol vehicle. The stolen vehicle was prowled prior to the theft and property with the auto theft suspect's information on it was located inside at that time.
  • Two rapes reported that are both open investigations. The victims knew the suspects in both cases.
  • Officers arrested suspects in all three residential burglaries reported, two of which were violations of no contact orders. A neighbor reported one case after witnessing the suspect break a window to gain entry to a family member's apartment. In another arrest, the suspect initially refused to exit the house, and officers successfully negotiated the suspect peacefully surrendering. In the last arrest, the suspect was seen going into the victim's apartment and officers eventually found him hiding in a cupboard.
  • Seven thefts reported this week. In one case, copper wire was stolen from an AC unit at a business. Four cases were stolen bikes. One was locked outside the victim's work. Another was locked on a back porch and a third was stolen from a school bike rack. One was stolen from a driveway 3 weeks ago and the victim just reported it after seeing a suspect with it. He fled prior to officers arriving. Providing a picture of your bike to officers and knowing the serial number help with locating and returning your bike if it's stolen.

Other Items

  • Officers responded to 1,024 calls for service this week.
  • This week's photo is from our Costume with a Cop in partnership with Starbucks and Lacey PD yesterday. We had a great time seeing all the creative, cute and scary costumes!
  • Heading out trick-or-treating for Halloween? Add reflective gear to costumes or candy bags and bring along glow sticks or flashlights to make everyone more visible. We'll have officers and volunteers helping with traffic in the South Capitol neighborhood, and officers trick-or-treating at the Capital Mall or hanging out at the Downtown Halloween Block Party. Say hi if you see us!
