PennDOT's Westmoreland County Maintenance Update - Week of October 14, 2024

Uniontown, PA - Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Westmoreland County Maintenance Manager Dave Forkey has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of October 14. All maintenance activities depend on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Box culvert replacement:

  • Route 4089 (Hulton Road) in Allegheny Township

Road closed. Posted detour:

Cleaning ditch channels:
  • Route 711 in Fairfield Township
Crack sealing:

Edge paving:
  • Route 3035 (Mendon Road) in South Huntingdon Township
  • Route 981 (Second Street) in South Huntingdon Township
Flushing pipes:
  • Route 31 in Mount Pleasant Township
  • Route 711 in Fairfield Township

Inlet repair:

  • Route 4002 (Brown Avenue) in Hempfield Township
Micro milling:
  • Business Route 66 in Hempfield Township
Patching:
  • Route 4041 (Denmark Manor Road) in Penn Township
  • Route 1033 (State Park Road) in Derry Township
  • Route 2025 (Ankney Hill Road) in Mount Pleasant Township
  • Various routes countywide
Pipe installation:
  • Route 1065 (Nelson Road) in Bell Township
Pipe extension:
  • Route 2012 (Depot Street Extension) in Hempfield Township
Shoulder repairs:
  • Route 56 in the City of New Kensington
Shoulder stabilization:
  • Route 711 in Cook Township
Slab repair:
  • Route 3013 (Vance DeiCas Memorial Highway) in Rostraver Township
Sweeping:
  • Route 119 (Connellsville-New Stanton Road) in various townships
  • ​Various routes countywide
Crews will pick litter, replace downed and update signs, and address work orders on various state routes countywide.

PennDOT has a toll-free number-1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623)-for residents to report road maintenance concerns and the locations of dead deer on state highways.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices by calling 5-1-1 or by following regional X alerts.
