FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NOVEMBER 6, 2024
Meeting will take place Monday, November 18, 2024, at 6 p.m.
DAVIE, Fla. - The Town of Davie has initiated the development of a Parks and Recreation Master Plan. A Public Input Meeting will be held in-person on Monday, November 18, 2024, at 6 p.m. at the Pine Island Multipurpose Center, 3801 S. Pine Island Road. Residents are encouraged to attend.
The meeting will collect feedback from the public to develop recommendations that will assist the Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Department in moving forward with improved recreational services and amenities in the Town. For individuals unable to attend, additional opportunities to participate will be available to residents via an open-link survey which will be available in mid-November.
The Master Plan aims to assess our current parks and recreation facilities and programs, as well as assess the need for future improvements, facilities, programs, operations, maintenance, and funding opportunities. All community input will help create a 10-year road map that is responsive, resilient and equitable and truly reflects the current and future needs of our residents.
The Town of Davie is working with the multidisciplinary firm Miller Legg to create the Parks and Recreation Master Plan. Miller Legg has assembled a team of experts, including subconsultant firm RRC Associates, who will work with Town staff and gather public input to understand the community needs and create recommendations that will help support the success of the Town's parks, recreation programs and facilities.
"Public participation is critical to ensuring that we continue to meet the needs of our growing community for generations to come. We need input from our residents to identify opportunities to improve our park system and recreational program offerings as we create the Master Plan," said Jeff Pohlman, Director of the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department. "Your support and involvement are crucial as we work together to shape the future of Davie's Parks and Recreation."
