MEDIA ADVISORY: Markup for Legislation to Reauthorize DHS’ Joint Task Forces, Enable Secure Technology Procurement Through OTC, Enhance FEMA Outreach

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The House Committee on Homeland Security will hold a markup on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 10:00 AM ET. The markup will include legislation to reauthorize the Joint Task Forces of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), enable secure and trustworthy technology procurement through DHS' other transaction contracting authority, and enhance outreach for the Urban Area Security Initiative and the State Homeland Security Grant Program of DHS.

Legislation to be considered includes:

  • H.R. 9460, ''DHS Joint Task Forces Reauthorization Act of 2024," introduced by Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA).
  • H.R. 9459, ''Producing Advanced Technologies for Homeland Security Act,'' or the ''PATHS Act," introduced by Congressman Michael Guest (R-MS).
  • H.R. 9458, ''Enhancing Stakeholder Support and Outreach for Preparedness Grants Act," introduced by Dan Goldman (D-NY).
