JEFFERSON CITY, Mo-Improvements are needed to reduce congestion, alleviateback-ups, and increase safetyon Missouri Boulevard, west of the Missouri Route 179 junction,in Jefferson City. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT)is seeking community input on a proposed new intersection design.
Each day, approximately 20,000 vehicles travel along this four-lane section of Missouri Boulevard. Currently, motorists attemptingto make a left turn between S. Ten Mile Drive and east of Wildwood Drive come to a complete stop in the through lanes causing congestion and back-ups. Safety improvements are needed to create a more efficient and more reliable flow of traffic.
At this stage in the design progress, MoDOT is seeking community input on the planned improvements, whichinclude:

There are multiple ways interested parties can provide input during the three-week comment period that runs Oct. 15 - Nov. 5, 2024:
MoDOT asks all motorists to work with us by buckling up, putting your phone down, obeying all traffic signs, and slowing down and moving over in work zones. Motorists are advised to useextra caution through work zones, obey all traffic signs, and avoid any distractions.
