Input sought on intersection improvements to Missouri Boulevard and S. Ten Mile Drive

Three-week comment period now open, in-person public meeting Oct. 22

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo-Improvements are needed to reduce congestion, alleviateback-ups, and increase safetyon Missouri Boulevard, west of the Missouri Route 179 junction,in Jefferson City. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT)is seeking community input on a proposed new intersection design.

Each day, approximately 20,000 vehicles travel along this four-lane section of Missouri Boulevard. Currently, motorists attemptingto make a left turn between S. Ten Mile Drive and east of Wildwood Drive come to a complete stop in the through lanes causing congestion and back-ups. Safety improvements are needed to create a more efficient and more reliable flow of traffic.

At this stage in the design progress, MoDOT is seeking community input on the planned improvements, whichinclude:

  • Adding a center turn lane between S. Ten Mile Drive and east of Wildwood Drive.
  • Installing a signal at Missouri Boulevard and S. Ten Mile Drive.
    • Motorists making left turns to/from Texas Roadhouse and McDonalds will be rerouted to the new signal.
  • Extending the sidewalk on the south side of Missouri Boulevard from S. Ten Mile Drive to east of Wildwood Drive.

By commenting, questioning, and providingcommunity insight, the public's input is essential in helping to guide the design and construction process.

There are multiple ways interested parties can provide input during the three-week comment period that runs Oct. 15 - Nov. 5, 2024:
