YKHC and villages celebrate groundbreaking for new clinics in Anvik, Stony River and Oscarville

Construction on new health clinics in Anvik, Stony River and Oscarville are underway!

Earlier this summer, community leaders, health aides, YKHC staff and board members gathered for groundbreaking ceremonies for new clinics in three villages. After prayers and comments at the site of the new clinic, guests and community members gathered to celebrate with a shared meal.

Residents expressed excitement at soon having an updated, modern facility where they can receive health care from a health aide or visiting provider. With construction underway, communities will see buildings start to rise and new clinics complete in the next 18 to 24 months!

YKHC is excited to partner with Tribes in Anvik, Stony River and Oscarville on the new clinics. These projects support our priority of helping residents of our service area receive health care closer to home.

Over the next several years, YKHC will invest over $100 million in vital health care infrastructure across the Yukon-Kuskokwim region. New clinics are also scheduled to be built in Lime Village and Mertarvik and the Kwigillingok clinic will receive a much-needed expansion. After these projects, YKHC will have built or replaced clinics in all service-area villages. In Bethel, construction is well underway on new employee housing apartments, which will greatly aid us with recruiting and retaining many new employees who will provide services throughout the region.

We are proud of our 58 member tribes, 1,500 employees and pleased that our 30,000 customers will greatly benefit from these new facilities that will help improve healthcare delivery across the Yukon-Kuskokwim region.
