Roxborough Memorial Hospital consistently achieves 'A' ratings in Hospital Safety from the Leapfrog Group

The latest grade for Fall 2024 highlights the hospital's dedication to ensuring patient safety on a national level.

Philadelphia, PA (November 21, 2024)- Roxborough Memorial Hospital, part of Prime Healthcare, has been awarded an "A" Hospital Safety Grade by The Leapfrog Group, a respected independent nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing patient safety. Leapfrog evaluates general hospitals nationwide, assigning grades from "A" to "F" based on more than 30 performance metrics that assess errors, accidents, injuries, infections, and the preventive measures hospitals implement.

In addition to this significant accolade, Roxborough Memorial Hospital has achieved an 'A' Hospital Safety Grade for the third consecutive time, covering Fall 2023 and both Spring and Fall 2024. This distinction positions the hospital among only nine within a 10-mile radius to receive such recognition in the Fall 2024 awards, contributing to a total of 21 hospitals acknowledged by the Leapfrog Group in the area.

"This honor from Leapfrog, a reputable national watchdog organization, highlights the dedication of everyone at Roxborough Memorial Hospital in delivering exceptional care, reducing errors, and maintaining high standards of patient safety," remarked Shawn Parekh, Chief Executive Officer of Roxborough Memorial Hospital. "This ongoing achievement is truly impressive and reflects the unwavering commitment of our entire healthcare team to provide positive experiences for our patients."

Over the last year, 85 percent of Prime hospitals earned "A" ratings from The Leapfrog Group.

"Achieving an 'A' Hospital Safety Grade is a significant accomplishment for Roxborough Memorial Hospital," said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. "It reflects enormous dedication to your patients and their families, and your whole community should be proud. I extend my congratulations to Roxborough Memorial Hospital, its leadership, clinicians, staff and volunteers for their tireless efforts to put patients first."

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
