Community’s work on Cliddesden Neighbourhood Plan praised by Mayor

The Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane Cllr Dan Putty hosted a special reception to mark the council's adoption of the Cliddesden Neighbourhood Plan

Cllr Putty met representatives of Cliddesden Parish Council and the local Neighbourhood Planning Group in the Mayor's parlour on Wednesday 20 November to congratulate them for working with the community to create a Neighbourhood Plan to help shape future development in the area.

The Cliddesden Neighbourhood Plan was drawn up by local people and adopted by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, after a referendum in which 97.9% of residents who voted were in favour of the plan.

The plan now forms part of the council's development plan for the parish and will be used when considering planning applications in the area.

Cllr Putty said: "My congratulations to everyone that has been involved in the process to bring this Neighbourhood Plan to fruition. A great deal of hard work has been undertaken by the local community in making the plan.

"Neighbourhood planning allows local people to have a real say in decisions affecting the future development of their communities."

This is the 15th Neighbourhood Plan to be made in the borough.
