Cassidy Announces $24.8 Million for Louisiana Airports from His Infrastructure Law

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will grant Louisiana $24,765,278.00 to improve local airports from his Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).

"Airports are the first impression our state makes on businesses, investors, and families looking to come to Louisiana," said Dr. Cassidy. "The infrastructure law provides funding to build Louisiana's economy for 2050."

Grant Awarded Recipient Project Description
$13,145,438.00 Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport This grant will provide federal funding to extend existing paved taxiway to bring the airport into conformity with current standards.
$7,778,390.00 Lakefront Management Authority This grant will provide federal funding to construct a new reservoir and pump station to handle storm water runoff to bring the airport into conformity with current standards.
$3,289,327.00 St. Mary Parish Government This grant will provide federal funding to rehabilitate 5,399 feet of existing paved runway to maintain the structural integrity and minimize foreign object debris to extend its useful life.
$434,000.00 Shreveport Airport Authority This grant will provide federal funding to install 13,650 feet of wildlife fencing and eight gates to enhance safety.
$118,123.00 LaSalle Economic Development District This grant will provide federal funding to rehabilitate runway pavement markings.
