On Tuesday, Oct. 15, the Fort Worth City Council approved additional funding to replace three fire stations as part of the 2022 Bond Program. The increased funding highlights the City's commitment to enhancing emergency services infrastructure, which is essential for community safety and development.

Why it matters: The initiative is part of a strategic plan to improve fire services across multiple districts, ensuring readiness and rapid response capabilities. The funding is necessary due to cost increases in construction.

By the numbers: The total project budget includes $14,113,534 for Fire Station 16; $12,389,032 for Fire Station 26; and $12,942,672 for Fire Station 37, showcasing significant investments in safety infrastructure. There are increases in the General Capital Projects Fund for each of the fire stations.
