Homicide Investigation - 900 block of West Tennyson Road

HAYWARD, Calif., On July 28,2024,at approximately 11:15 a.m., officers responded to the report of a shooting near the 900 block of West Tennyson Road.

Officers arrived on scene and locateda 15-year-old female, suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuriesand was pronounced deceased.

A second shooting victim was locatednear the 28000 block of Ruus Road after leaving the scene of the incident. The 41-year-old Hayward resident was transported to a local hospital where he received treatmentfor non-life-threatening injuries.

It is not believed the victimsknew each other.

Both victim's identitiesare known but are not being released at this time.

There is no one in custody for this incident. This investigation is ongoing and further details will be released when they are available.
