Defence Secretary graces Indian NDC Alumni gathering

Defence Secretary General Kamal Gunaratne graced the Indian National Defence College (NDC) Alumni Association gathering held at the Colombo Taj Samudra Hotel on Monday evening (Sep 02).

The Defence Secretary was received by the Indian High Commissioner in Sri Lanka HE Santosh Jha on his arrival at the venue. Defence Advisor of the Indian HC Captain Anand Mukundan made the welcome remarks.

The event was organized by the Indian High Commission in Colombo in collaboration with the NDC Alumni Association.

While speaking at the event Gen. Gunaratne, who is also a distinguished NDC alumnus appreciated the contribution of NDC alumni and stressed the importance of maintaining close ties and cooperation.

During the gathering, former Army Commander General Gerry De Silva (Retd) a distinguished NDC alumnus graced as the Guest of Honour was presented a special award.

Chief of Defence Staff General Shavendra Silva, Navy and Air Force Commanders, senior serving and retired tri forces officers, members of the diplomatic corps and Indian High Commission were present at the occasion.
