Two months after its launch, streaming service M6+ has been successfully adopted by French audiences and been released on Apple Vision Pro.

100 million streaming hours, 2.2 million downloads

M6+ - which replaces 6play as the advertising-based video on demand (AVOD) streaming service from Groupe M6 - was successfully launched in May 2024. A total of 100 million hours have been streamed on the platform since its launch, representing a year-on-year increase of 61 per cent. Compared to last year, the number of daily viewers has increased by 55 per cent.

M6+ is ranked as the most entertaining French streaming platform, with an average rating of 88 per cent among viewers aged 15 and above. The platform is praised for being innovative and modern. The M6+ app has been downloaded 2.2 million times since its launch - 40 per cent of which are on connected TVs. The platform is now available on all connected TV devices in France.

During the UEFA EURO 2024, three million viewers watched the matches on M6+, with more than 1 million tuning in for the France versus Portugal quarter final - a record for the streaming service.

A spatial streaming experience from Bedrock

Just in time for Apple Vision Pro's opening weekend in Europe, Bedrock - a streaming technology company co-owned by RTL Group and Groupe M6 - has launched a fully dedicated version of M6+ on Apple Vision OS. Apple Vision Pro is Apple's first 3D camera - a spatial computer that blends digital content and apps, allowing users to navigate with their eyes, hands and voice.

After developing M6+ for its launch in May, Bedrock continues to enhance the platform's user experience by ensuring compatibility with the latest technology. The integration with Apple Vision Pro allows French audiences to engage with content in the new spatial computing format.

Jonas Engwall, CEO of Bedrock, says: "Bringing the M6+ platform to Apple Vision Pro shows our strong determination to embrace emerging industry trends, positioning our clients at the forefront of this new dimension of entertainment."

M6+ is already compatible across devices: all Apple and Android devices, Smart TVs, over-the-top (OTT) devices (Samsung, LG, Hisense, Philips, Android TV and Amazon Fire TV), and various set-top boxes. In the near future, M6+ will be integrated into in-car entertainment systems.
