State Police arrest Queensbury man after dispute with a knife

On September 25, 2024, State Police of Queensbury arrested John W. Janos, 57, of Queensbury, NY, for Criminal Contempt in the first degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the fourth degree, and Menacing in the second degree.

On September 25, 2024, at about 7:29 p.m., Troopers responded to a home in Queensbury, NY, for the reports of a disturbance. The investigation determined Janos was in a verbal dispute with the victim when he retrieved a knife and held it to the victim's throat. The victim was not injured during the incident. This incident occurred while an active court issue refrain from order of protection was in place against Janos, protecting the victim.

Janos was arrested at the scene and transported to SP Queensbury for processing. He was then transported to the Warren County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
