United States Trustee's Notice Regarding Change in Chapter 7 Trustee Case Assignments

Monday, November 18, 2024

The United States Trustee's office is implementing state-wide chapter 7 trustee case assignments effective with 341 meetings set in January 2025 and thereafter.

The United States Trustee historically established regional divisions (Denver, Colorado Springs/Pueblo, Fort Collins, and Grand Junction) to assign trustees to cases based in part on the need to conduct § 341 meetings in locations bearing some proximity to a debtor's residence. The implementation of virtual Zoom 341 meetings ends that necessity and permits the United States Trustee to assign cases more evenly and broadly amongst the entire chapter 7 trustee panel.

The United States Trustee will begin assigning cases to chapter 7 trustees on a state-wide basis and without regard to the county of debtors' residence. This means that a chapter 7 case may be assigned to any trustee on the panel regardless of debtor's place of residence.
