Jovanov Receives German Embassy Representative

The Head of the ALEKSANDAR VUCIC - Serbia Must Not Stop Parliamentary Group Milenko Jovanov met at the National Assembly House with the political advisor at the German Embassy in Serbia Hannah Elten to discuss the priorities of this National Assembly legislature and current topics in Serbia.

Jovanov said that the National Assembly is about to commence intensive legislative activities aimed at the further economic development of the country and rapprochement of the national legislature with the EU acquis.

Elten was interested in current ecological issues namely the opening of a public debate on the topic of lithium mining and realisation of project "Jadar".

Milenko Jovanov stressed that lithium mining adhering to all ecological standards that ensure that the environment is not harmed is a huge developmental chance for Serbia which should not be missed and shared his conviction that the National Assembly would do all it can to make sure an open and serious discussion is led on the topic.

The officials agreed that it is exceptionally important to keep developing parliamentary cooperation between Serbia and Germany through contacts between working bodies and parliamentary friendship groups where the parliamentarians could exchange opinions and experiences concerning environmental conservation, as well as all other topics of mutual interest.
