Anderson County construction projects updates:
US 175 Widening Project
The contractor is scheduled to continue working on the new westbound bridge and roadway elements, including pavement and ditch work on the eastbound and westbound sides. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the project. Traffic switch is expected at the north end of the project. Expect lane closures and delays. The speed limit is reduced throughout the project limits. Project consists of expansion to a four-lane roadway with new bridges across the Neches River.
US 79 Truck Parking Area
The contractor will be addressing punch list items pertaining to electrical service. Operations will be in the right of way, but motorists should use caution when traveling through the area. The project includes concrete curb and gutter, earthwork, and drainage improvements.
Gus Engeling Texas Parks and Wildlife
The contractor is working on final paving details and project cleanup. Operations are off public roadways. The project includes surface treatment, pavement striping, and drainage improvements.

Cherokee County
Crews are scheduled to overlay on FM 768. Expect lane closures with flaggers and a pilot car controlling traffic. Crews will also begin widening operations on FM 3288. Expect lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic.
Cherokee County construction projects updates: SH 204
The contractor is scheduled to continue bridge class culvert extensions. Contractor is also scheduled to continue roadway excavation and embankment, as well as begin cement treatment on the subgrade. Traffic delays are expected due to lane closures. The project consists of adding a super-two highway section.
US 175 Widening Project
The contractor has switched traffic to the temporary pavement side. Crews are working on roadways elements on the westbound side. Crews are also working on drill shafts and installing columns for the proposed bridge. Utility relocations will also continue. Drainage structures are being worked on. Motorists should be aware of large dirt-moving equipment in the construction zone as well as the traffic switch. The speed limit is reduced to 55 mph throughout the project limits. This project consists of expansion of US 175 to a four-lane roadway with new bridges, grading, hot mix application, drainage structures, pavement markings, and signage.

Gregg County
This week, Longview Maintenance will continue edging operations on FM 2087, from Longview city limits at SL 281 to FM 2087. Work will be done north and southbound. Expect lane closures with flaggers and a pilot car controlling traffic. Crews will also continue bridge channel maintenance on SH 135 at Peavine Creek. The eastbound I-20 ramp will be closed during this work. A message board will be put in place alerting motorists.
Gregg County construction projects updates:
SH 135 - Kilgore Traffic Circle
This project consists of completely rebuilding the traffic circle and full width of roadway to the Rusk County line. Crews will be demolishing the west half of the road. It will consist of removing existing concrete paving, reconstructing subgrade, constructing concrete paving, storm sewer installation, lighting, and striping. The roadway is now open to two-way traffic, south of the traffic circle. The contractor is working on storm sewer and paving at the traffic circle.
SH 149
This project consists of replacing culverts, adding safety end treatments, guard fence, milling and inlaying hot mix asphalt surface, and striping. Contractor crews are scheduled to place rumble strips on lanes and work on the punch list.
FM 2206/Harrison Road Phase 1
This project consists of widening a two-lane road to four lanes with a center turn lane. This includes drainage structures, flexible base, curb and gutter, sidewalks, hot mix, and pavement markings. Contractor will be installing curb and gutter, driveways, and sidewalk, inlet tops, and possible hot mix asphalt work.
FM 2206/Harrison Road Phase 2
This project consists of widening a two-lane road to four lanes with a center turn lane. This includes drainage structures, new bridge, flexible base, hot mix, and pavement markings. Contractor will be working on the project punch list.
High Street Bridge over UP Railroad
The project consists of replacing the High Street bridge structure over the UP railroad. High Street will be reduced to two lanes - one northbound lane and one southbound lane. One half of the bridge will be constructed at a time. Crews will be working on the retaining walls and construction of the new bridge structure. Expect delays.
US 259 Mill and Inlay
This project consists of milling and inlaying hot mix asphalt on all lanes and re-striping. This week, the contractor will be striping during the day.

Henderson County
This week, Athens Maintenance crews will be performing overlay on FM 1615. Crews will also perform base repair on FM 314. Expect lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic on both projects. Crews will also perform sign maintenance, herbicide application, and sweeping throughout the county.

SH 198 Bridge Project
The contractor is scheduled to work on bridge rubbing elements under the bridge as well as project cleanup. Final striping will be completed once final tie-in paving is complete. Motorists should be prepared for lane closures and delays. The speed limit has been reduced to 50 mph throughout the project. The project consists of the construction of replacing bridges, approaches, grading, structures, base and surface, retaining walls, curb & gutter, metal beam guard fence (MBGF), and pavement markings.
FM 316 Rehabilitation
The contractor is scheduled to finish some sign work and final vegetation establishment. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the project and expect lane closures and delays. The project includes pavement reconstruction, structures, pavement markings and signs.
FM 315 Rehabilitation
The contractor is working on punch list items. Contractor is also planning cleanup operations on the Clear Creek bridge. Rusk County construction projects updates:
US 84 - FM 225 West to County Line
This project consists of reconstructing and widening US 84, extended culverts, and new striping. Crews will be extending cross culverts. There will be daytime lane closures. Motorists should expect delays.
US 84 - FM 225 East to CR 3155
This project consists of reconstructing US 84, extended structures, hot mix asphalt surface, new signs, and striping. Crews will be extending cross culverts. Motorists should expect delays.
FM 3231 - Subgrade and Seal coat
This project consists of reconstructing FM 3231 completely. Work includes widening and re-laying subgrade, flex base material, and seal coat. Driveway culverts will be upgraded along with new signs and striping. The contractor is scheduled to process the base material in the main lanes. Expect lane closures with flaggers and a pilot car controlling traffic.
SH 315
This project consists of widening pavement edges and installing a four-foot space between the traffic lanes to separate opposing traffic for safety. Work will also include adding a passing lane in each direction of travel. The entire surface will be milled, and new hot mix will be placed for the final surface. Project also includes replacing some driveway pipes, metal beam guard fence, and striping. No work is scheduled this week.
FM 2658
This project consists of reconstructing FM 2658 completely, from CR 344 to FM 1251. Work includes guard fence, treating subgrade, flex base material, seal coat, and striping. Beginning in June, the bridge over Panther Creek will be replaced. The north end of the roadway will be shutdown to through traffic. Only local traffic will be allowed, and detours will be in place. The contractor is scheduled to continue clearing the right of way, milling the old asphalt, and mixing the subgrade. Lane closures are expected.
US 79 Overlay
This project consists of rehabilitation of US 79 from FM 839 to 1.3 miles east of SH 42. Work includes guard fence, seal coat, hot mix overlay, driveway culverts, and striping. This week, the contractor is scheduled to stripe the roadway and clear timber in the right of way.
US 79 Rehabilitation
This project consists of rehabilitation of US 79 consisting of pavement repair, seal coat, asphalt PFC surface, driveway culverts, and pavement markings. This week, the contractor is scheduled to lay hot mix asphalt, restripe, and clear the right of way. Motorists should expect delays with flaggers controlling traffic and alternative lane closures.
US 79 N
This project consists of repairing slope failure in the TxDOT right of way. The site will be excavated, and a new embankment will be placed. This week, the contractor will be excavating the embankment. Most of the work will be off of the roadway. Motorists should expect shoulder closures and trucks entering the highway.

This week, Tyler Maintenance will perform mill and inlay on FM 2908. Expect lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic. Smith County construction projects updates:
Tyler State Park Bridge and Resurfacing Project
The contractor is scheduled to apply water to the permanent sod and install a concrete flume with riprap stone at runoff points. When complete, the contractor will then remove erosion control. This project consists of the construction of a new bridge and parking areas.
US 69 Rehab Existing Road and Restricted Crossing U-Turn (R-Cut)
The contractor has no work scheduled this week. This project consists of rehabilitating existing roadway and installing a restricted crossing U-turn (R-Cut) at FM 2813 intersection.
US 69/SH 31 Safety Improvement
The contractor is scheduled to install the mow strip in the medians along US 69. Lane closures are anticipated. The project consists of safety improvements consisting of the installation of a median cable barrier.
SL 323 Overlay on Existing Roadway
The contractor is scheduled to continue paving operations in the main lanes. Nightly lane closures are anticipated. This project consists of overlaying existing roadway with permeated friction course (PFC) asphalt.
I-20 Frontage Road at SH 155
The contractor has no work scheduled this week. No delays are expected. Project consists of resurfacing the roadway, pavement markings, signage, and illumination.
I-20 Mill and Inlay
The contractor has no work scheduled this week. Project consists of an overlay with TBPFC surface, ACP surface, planing, shoulder texturing and pavement markings.
Legacy Trails Extension
The contractor has no work scheduled this week. The project is currently in time suspension. This project consists of a hike and bike trail development that includes construction of a 12-foot wide shared-use paths.
FM 2493 Widen Non-Freeway
The contractor has no work scheduled this week. No lane closures are in place. The project consists of widening the existing roadway.
County Bridge Replacements
The contractor has no work scheduled at the CR 452 bridge at Mill Creek. The bridge will be closed for the duration of construction. Project consists of replacing the existing bridges and approaches.
SH 110 Preventative Maintenance
The contractor is scheduled to perform mill and inlay on one section of Loop 323. Nightly lane closures will be in place. The project consists of preventative maintenance that includes surface overlay and pavement markings.
SH 110 Traffic Signals
The contractor has no work scheduled this week. This project consists of adding traffic signals to SH 110 and Loop 49 ramps and overlay operations.
I-20 Mill and Inlay at SH 135
The contractor has no work scheduled. Lane closures are not expected. Project consists of an overlay with thin-bonded permeable friction course (TBPFC) surface, asphalt concrete pavement, planing, shoulder texturing and pavement markings.
FM 16 Widening and Realignment
The project consists of grading, asphalt base, asphalt surface overlay paving, storm drain, bridge, and culvert structures, signing, pavement markings, and signals. Crews will be preparing the right-of-way by removing trees and grading the embankment. Motorists should expect trucks entering and exiting the roadway. Construction of traffic signals are scheduled to begin at the intersection of US 69 and FM 16. Traffic shift detours are in place. Motorists are urged to drive with caution and expect delays.

SH 19 Super Two Widening & Overlay (North of US 80)
The project consists of super two work, including grading, base repair, treated subgrade, flex base, OCST, PFC surface, structures, signs, and pavement markings. Major items of work have been completed.
I-20 Frontage Roads West of FM 314 and East of FM 47
This project is for roadway restoration consisting of scarifying, treating existing material & subgrade, flex base, prime coat, TCST, ACP base, ACP surface, metal beam guard fence, structures, signs, and pavement markings. Work is in progress west of FM 314 and east of FM 47. Major items of work have been completed.
CR 1102 Bridge Replacement
This project is for the construction of a bridge replacement consisting of replacing bridge and approaches, grading, ACP base and surface, and metal beam guard fence installation. Major items of work have been completed.
FM 17, FM 47, and FM 859 Bridge Replacement
This project is for the construction of a new bridge and approaches, grading, ACP base, and surface, and metal beam guard fence installation. The project will begin with the replacement of FM 859 & FM 47 bridges the last week of November. Motorists should expect work zone speed limit reductions and shoulder width reductions on the I-20 main lanes. Motorists should also expect work zone speed limit reductions and shoulder width reductions on the I-20 frontage roads. Also, motorists should expect work zone speed limit reductions and shoulder width reductions on FM 859 and FM 47. Nightly lane closures are scheduled on I-20 near the FM 859 bridge. The bridge at FM 859 is closed and detours are in place. Motorists should pay attention and travel with caution in the area. FM 1255 Rehabilitate Existing Roadway
This project is for the rehabilitation of the existing roadway consisting of roadway widening, grading, rework base material, cement treatment, flex base, TCST, resurfacing intersections & driveways, extending cross structures, signs, and pavement markings. The project will be completed under traffic. Subgrade rehabilitation will be completed in one-mile segments. Construction is on-going for the pavement rehabilitation, cross structures, and right of way clearing. Lane closures and speed zone reductions are expected. Motorists should expect delays.
SH 64 at I-20 and SH 155 at I-20 Traffic Signal Install
This project is for the construction and installation of traffic control devices including pedestrian signals. On SH 64, crews are currently working on driveways, drainage structures, signals, and roadway widening. The signals on SH 64 are fully functional. Crews will begin laying hot mix for the proposed right turn lane and will prepare to stripe the roadway. On SH 155, crews are currently working on driveways, roadway widening, and drainage structures. Lane closures and speed zone reductions are expected. Motorists should expect delays.
SH 243 Traffic Signal Install
This project is for the construction and installation of traffic control devices including pedestrian signals. Major items of work have been completed.
I-20 WB Exit Ramp at SH 19
This project consists of ramp improvements. Crews have begun construction on the drainage structures and frontage road alignment. Lane closures and traffic shifts are expected. Motorists should expect delays.
FM 1651 Rehabilitate Existing Roadway
This project is for the rehabilitation of the existing roadway consisting of roadway widening, grading, rework base material, cement treat, flex base, OCST, resurfacing intersections & driveways, extending cross structures, signs, and pavement markings. The project will be completed under traffic. Subgrade rehabilitation will be completed in approximate one-mile segments.
