Consumers National Bank Breaks Ground For New Massillon Branch

Consumers National Bank Breaks Ground For New Massillon Branch

Minerva, OH-Minerva-based Consumers National Bank broke ground on Thursday, June 27, for construction of its new branch at 2117 E. Lincoln Way in Massillon, Ohio. The new branch will be the 22nd branch location in the bank's five-county northeast Ohio network.

Consumers Bank's Massillon branch will employ a full-time branch relationship manager, four relationship bankers, a commercial lender, and a mortgage originator. The branch portion of the building will feature a modern banking lobby with six stations where relationship bankers can assist with all types of banking transactions, four private offices, and a conference room. Two drive-thru lane tellers, a drive-up enhanced functionality ATM, and night depository will be available for added banking convenience. In addition to the 2,800 square foot retail bank branch, the facility will include an adjoining 2,100 square foot office of space available for lease to a third party.

In his remarks at the groundbreaking ceremony, Ralph J. Lober II, the bank's President and CEO noted that "the groundbreaking was a symbolic first step in the bank's commitment to the Massillon community." He thanked the Massillon Mayor Jamie Slutz and the rest of the administration for their support through the zoning and approval process, the bank's Massillon area customers who have encouraged the bank's expansion to the market, the bank's board of directors who support the bank's growth, and the bank's employees who make growth possible and who serve the communities by investing local deposits back into the respective communities.

Massillon Mayor Jamie Slutz and Masillon WestStark Chamber of Commerce President Debbie Busby welcomed the bank and thanked them for their investment in Massillon.

Reporting that the Massillon branch will be the $1.1 billion asset bank's ninth Stark County location, Lober noted that, Consumers will operate 10% of the 90 FDIC-insured institutions in the county, and that Consumers is the largest of only two banks headquartered in the five-county region in which it operates branches. "Where your bank is headquartered is important," Lober noted, "as employees in that location manage and direct an organization's capital, investments, and community support. The headquarters community is where there vested interest lies."

"Consumers National Bank has grown primarily by investing back into the communities in which we do business. Local investors and depositors support our local lending. In addition, we provide customers with direct access to local decision making and state-of-the-art technology. We believe that the Massillon community will welcome the kind of personalized service and account offerings we provide. We have market-based community bankers and lenders that grow to understand the unique circumstances and needs of the respective markets and customers. It is a win-win for Consumers Bank and the community."

"Consumers National Bank is proud to invest in the local economy through this building project. We are making this investment in Massillon and Stark County. Architect Milton Studer of Minerva designed the building, and we selected local Massillon general contractor RBS General Construction that will utilize local subcontractors and local workers for the construction. As a local business, doing business with other local businesses is essential to Consumers Bank," said Lober.

"We are grateful to Consumers Bank for the opportunity to construct this beautiful new facility, and for their continued investment into our community," said Sean Roseman, Roseman Building Systems."

"We look forward to building new personal and business banking relationships from our Massillon branch and to Making a Difference in the community," said Lober.
