Napa County receives Excellence in Financial Reporting and Transparency Award

NAPA COUNTY - For the 19th consecutive year, the Napa County Auditor-Controller's Office has been recognized for excellence in financial reporting and transparency by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).

GFOA awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to County of Napa for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023. The report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting and represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

"I am extremely proud of my staff as the comprehensive financial report is highly complex and reflects the fiscal integrity and management of not only my office, but the entire county," said Tracy A. Schulze, Auditor-Controller for Napa County. "To receive this award every year since 2005 is a testament to the financial integrity of Napa County and the effective oversight through accurate financial reporting and solid internal controls. This recognition strengthens our dedication to the citizens of Napa County and the essential work we do on behalf of taxpayers."
