Slow lane to be closed on I-64 West near Nitro and St. Albans exits beginning the night of Monday, July 29, 2024

The westbound slow lane on Interstate 64 will be closed from 8 a.m. to 6 a.m. from Monday, July 29. 2024, through Friday, August 2, 2024, from mile marker 44 to mile marker 41, for paving work.

The work is part of an approximately $225 million project to widen I-64 to six lanes between the Nitro and the US 35 exits. The project also included the construction of the new Nitro WW I Memorial Bridge and the new Donald M. Legg Memorial Bridge, and is paid for through Gov. Jim Justice's $2.8 billion Roads to Prosperity program.

Motorists are asked to remain alert and pay attention in the work zone.
