Free the Economy podcast: Crypto politics with Eric Peterson

In this week's episode we cover corporations playing politics, Florida's ban on lab-grown meat, and a tale of two high-speed rail projects. Our interview this week is with Eric Peterson, policy director at Satoshi Action Fund. We talk about Bitcoin, banking, civil liberties, due process, and the future of cryptocurrency.

Eric was also a panelist at the Competitive Enterprise Institute's July 2024 briefing on Capitol Hill, "De-Weaponization of Financial Regulation," with CEI's Iain Murray (and myself) and the Cato Institute's Nicholas Anthony. Video of that event, describing how financial regulation in the United States is becoming an institution for social control by ideologically motivated politicians and bureaucrats, is here. Nick's recent book, Digital Currency or Digital Control?: Decoding CBDC and the Future of Money, is available here. Iain's July 2014 paper "Operation Choke Point: What It Is and Why It Matters," is here.
