ECA to Enhance Support for Debt Management Efforts in Egypt

Cairo, 8 August 2024 (ECA) - The Economic Commission for Africa will hold on 11-15 August a fact-finding and advisory services mission to Egypt as part of its initiative to support African countries' efforts to enhance their fiscal resilience and access to sustainable finance.

The mission will be an opportunity to initiate discussions with the Egyptian government, assess the national debt portfolio, and assist the formulation of a debt management strategy to improve public debt management, facilitate investments in climate adaptation and resilience, generate new jobs and income sources, and foster economic growth.

This mission is part of an 18-month program aiming at building fiscal resilience, reducing debt bottlenecks, and mobilizing additional resources by developing sustainable financial products and investing in climate adaptation and resilience.
