Marquette Today asked members of the Class of 2024 what advice they would give their first-year selves in the minutes leading up to their Undergraduate Commencement ceremony last spring.

As the Class of 2028 begins its Marquette journey, we hope these words of wisdom can be helpful in navigating your own path.

"Enjoy every minute of it. You think it's going to last forever, but the next second you're standing here with a silly hat on."

"Don't be scared. This is going to be the best time of your life. Savor that."

"You get out what you put in. Try everything at least once, and you'll meet great people along the way."

"Allow yourself to breathe."

"Don't stick to a specific routine or schedule. Go with the flow. Things may not turn out the way that you expected them to, but in the end it all works out."

"Definitely don't procrastinate - even though I just did that last week. I'm still working on that."

"Everything happens for a reason, and no matter the path you take, you get to where you need to be."

"Go to everything, whether it's a basketball game or just getting to know people at the Annex. Do everything you can to get involved and be with people."

"Live in the moment. The time flies so fast and you only get four years. Enjoy it to the best of your ability. Say yes. Do things out of the norm."

"Make your life a lot easier and start studying earlier."

"Put yourself out there. Join clubs, go out, meet new people."

"Get enough sleep and go for walks every day."

"Everything is going to be OK. It always works out. I know things seem stressful, but it works out in the end."

"Don't take any moment for granted. It goes by very fast."

"Take advantage of every opportunity, whether it's in school or in different clubs."

"These are the best four years of your life. You're going to meet so many people and have such a great time. Even when things are hard, do your best."

"Make sure to reach out to people who don't just live on your floor."

"Be open to new experiences and try new things."

"Embrace new challenges."

"Try every dining hall possible and use those swipes to the very end."

"Even if you think you don't have the time, eat!"

"Calm down. It's all going to come together."
