Man Walks into Central District Clinic After Machete Attack in Chinatown-International District

A man walked into a Central District clinic with multiple machete slash wounds.

Thursday evening shortly after 6:30 p.m., 911 Dispatch (CARE) received a report of a man with multiple deep cuts walked into a clinic in the 2100 Block of East Yesler Way.

Police arrived and found a 35-year-old male suffering from multiple slash wounds to both arms and head. Seattle Fire Department arrived, and aid was provided. The man was transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

The victim was attacked with a machete after getting in an altercation with a male suspect that was accompanied by a woman (female was not involved in the assault). The incident occurred around 12th Avenue South and South King Street. The victim walked approximately 30 minutes before arriving at the clinic, where staff called 911.

Police searched the area for the suspect with negative results. There was a significant time delay reporting the assault due to the victim walking to the clinic.
