Project Description:

Proposed in-place replacement and maintenance of 52 structures along NYSEG Electric Transmission Line 544. Work will start within an existing utility right-of-way from approximately 260 feet northwest of the intersection of Sleight Road and Old Lyons Road, crossing the canal to the south, following along State Route 31 towards Cole Road, extending south down Fink Road, crossing back over to State Route 31 from Madison Road, and ending at the intersection of Forgham Street and State Route 31 in the Town of Lyons. Activities will involve temporary disturbance to 1.92 acres within NYSDEC freshwater wetlands, NE-36 and NE-38 (Class 2) and 2.09 acres of the regulated adjacent areas.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:

Project is not subject to SEQR because it is a Type II action.

SEQR Lead Agency: None Designated

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The application type is exempt and/or the project involves the continuation of an existing operational activity.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

DEC Commissioner Policy 29, Environmental Justice and Permitting (CP-29)

It has been determined that the proposed action is not subject to CP-29.

Opportunity for Public Comment:

Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than Jul 18, 2024.
