November 12, 2024 - Portales, NM - Eastern New Mexico University is set to host the groundbreaking of the new Student Academic Services Building on Friday, November 15, at 1 p.m.
The new state-of-the-art Student Academic Services Building will house all the traditional student services that the University offers, including Enrollment Services, Financial Aid, Counseling and Career Services, Advising, and Accessibility Resources and Testing.
"We are very excited to add a new campus building that will allow us to continue to meet the needs of our ever-growing student population," said James Johnston, ENMU Chancellor. "This addition to the historic front of campus will both honor our architectural style and create a new front door of campus."
The groundbreaking will occur on the former Harding Hall site on the main campus. The event will feature leadership representatives from the ENMU campus, the ENMU Board of Regents, the Roosevelt County Chamber of Commerce, and Bradbury Stamm Construction.
With the addition of the Student Academic Services Building, ENMU has invested more than $285 million into its campus since 2001. The new Student Academic Services building continues ENMU's investment into student success, joining fellow renovated buildings, the Communication Building, the Music Building, the Art and Anthropology Building, the Jack Williamson Liberal Arts Building, the Golden Student Success Center, the Roosevelt Science Center, and the new construction of Guadalupe Hall and the Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium.
